Zimbabwe proudly participated in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2025 International Final held in Singapore, showcasing the country’s emerging talent in robotics and innovation. The competition brought together over 3,300 participants from nearly 100 countries, providing a platform for young innovators to demonstrate their skills in coding, engineering, and problem-solving.

Among the Zimbabwean teams, Tech Bots from Chinhoyi Technical High School delivered an impressive performance, achieving 16th place out of 60 teams in their category. Their accomplishment reflects months of preparation, creativity, and teamwork, highlighting the dedication of Zimbabwe’s youth on the global robotics stage.

The participation of Zimbabwean teams was supported by Girls in STEM Trust, an organization committed to promoting STEM education and increasing female participation in technology and robotics. Through national competitions, workshops, and mentorship programs, Girls in STEM has created pathways for both boys and girls to engage in hands-on learning, innovation, and problem-solving.

Zimbabwe’s presence at WRO 2025 not only demonstrated technical skill but also the power of inclusive STEM initiatives in nurturing future innovators. The experience gained by the teams will contribute to stronger performances in future international competitions, while inspiring a new generation of young Zimbabweans to explore robotics and technology.
